About BNI
What is BNI?
BNI is an 18 year old business and professional organisation that allows only one person from each trade or profession to join a chapter. With over 2,700 active chapters, and 54,000 members, it is the most successful business referral organisation in the world.
Belonging to BNI is like having dozens of sales people working for you because all the other members carry copies of your card with them. When they meet someone new that could use your products or services they hand out your card and personally recommend your services.
How will networking help me?
Being a member of BNI has a number of obvious and not so obvious benefits.
- Members find each other business. This includes personal business that the members pass between each other and external referrals. Every week members bring new business into the chapter.
- Members bring visitors to meetings. These visitors are new contacts and sources of new business for all.
- Each Chapter has local business people. Most of the core business skills needed for any project can be found within the Chapter. If your customer has a problem, it is probable you can solve it from the resources within the Chapter.
- New members quickly find they are being introduced to contacts in companies and walks of life they had not been familiar with.
- Members within a Chapter are extremely supportive of one another. The support one gets goes beyond finding referrals, or a good network of advice.
- BNI is a good training ground. Members learn how to present themselves and there business concisely and effectively. Members learn how to network effectively at BNI and non-BNI meetings.
